Here are some pieces I've been working on lately. Fast and dirty paint jobs to fit with the rest of what I've done.
Managed to get the Recon Universal carrier painted up for my Dieppe landing force. It's a Warlord games plastic kit and was fiddly as heck to assemble and paint up but I'm happy enough with the end result. Still needs a few id markings but I'll research those later.
Next up is a Bren Gun duo for my first Commandos squad. You'll notice the fellow on the left has a pretty blobby face - that's due to a 4 month old puppy taking an interest in my hobby. *eyeroll* lesson learnt there... (They are both Wargames foundry sculpts for those interested.)
Lastly I also got a sniper team in gillie suits done. This Warlord Games duo are smashing sculpts and were fun and easy to get painted up. Not sure snipers were present at Dieppe, but Commonwealth tactics liked to use platoon sharp shooters, so I felt it was okay to add them and heck, I liked the sculpts, so there.
I also managed to get the Churchill Mk 1 done for this lot but realized the pics I took were from when I originally painted on the markings and thanks to the Bolt Action Facebook group, was informed that they were incorrect. I've sorted that now, but still need to take pics, so will post that beast up tomorrow or so.
Still hoping all are staying safe and well out there.
Some things:
- Dai
- I paint small metal and plastic figures and rarely get to play with them. But that is fine with me.

Six of Seven
Six out of
seven ratlings are done! (The seventh had a mishap, and so I’ll have to start
from scratch on him.)
But I’m
calling this one done done done. The models weren’t cleaned up or anything
prior to me getting them and I refused to do it myself after goods had already
been exchanged and hands shaken. So they were painted au naturelle so to speak.
Tabletop quality was requested so that’s what you see here. Nothing special,
but good enough to get them laid down and ready to snipe out enemies of the
Imperium of Man.

To
celebrate, I also finished up another miniature I had promised a mate I’d do up
for him over a year ago for a roleplay game character (From a campaign that we have
since long finished…. *facepalm*). The figure originally sported a nice bo-staff
to go with it’s “Brotherhood of the Wolf” look, but the character it represents
hacks his enemies apart with a hand axe, so a simple weapon-swap was done. (No
back view as it’s just a plain black cloak, which is…. Boring.)
Once I get the final ratling done, it's on to my Desert 8th Army Brits. I have all but one truck (Out of 15 needed....) out of the models required for my Mid War list and I can't wait to get painting it. Stay tuned!

Treleaven and the Sneakies
Title sounds like a bad 60's children's program.(Next door neighbours to the Wombles perhaps?)
Last night finished up basing two of my sniper teams and a few touch ups on my Captain John Treleaven warrior team.
Being only 6 infantry and some scenery pieces, these were done in record time.
Excited to try out the snipers, though at 50 points each, I completely agree with the general consensus that they are W-A-Y over priced for what they do. regardless, they'll add something new and fun to my casual games.
Captain John Treleaven is a British warrior team from the D-Day landings book and can be used instead of an infantry platoon commander and offers some nice abilities for a low cost, list depending. (He can be used for any of the Rifle or Assault lists in Overlord - not bad.) Best thing about Captain John is his mini - by itself it's a cool little scene of him supporting his downed superior officer (Who has a lovely large 'tache, though the pics fail to show it - sorry.) who has obviously fallen afoul of some blast and is crawling from under some rubble.

Next up is my first sniper team who are looking about for a better position to take their pin-point shots from. I've tried to make it look like this team is a dawn/dusk specialist and blacked out their faces for extra camo.
2nd Sniper team are already set up in the underbrush, ready to take out that Hun Commander on the ridge!
[Apologies if the pics aren't all that great - still getting to grips with this new phone camera. Seems convenience is winning over quality where camera and lightbox set-up is concerned!)

Ada 1 (Part 1 - WIP)
After all the 15mm brown uniformed, green tank'd mass of painting of late, I felt I needed to take a break (Thus changing my list for Saturday's tournament, no way I'll get all those artillery painted before then.) and paint something completely different and refresh my hobby batteries.
This is Ada, from the Dreamforge Games Kickstarter from Autumn last year. She was a Kickstarter exclusive. The original comes with an un-helmeted head:
With this in mind, I felt it would be prudent to get two of the miniatures (Along with my box of 20 Stormtroopers.) so that I could have one with a lid and one without. I think the regular "male" helmet fits pretty well.
This is my WIP painting effort, the lighting for these pics is rather awful and I'll be sure to take my completed paint job pictures under better lighting conditions. Ada is supposed to be a sniper and so has what looks to be, some sort of long barreled heavy caliber or laser rifle for the job. One thing I felt was missing from this was a scope of some sort, but I just couldn't put one together that did the sculpt justice, or look streamlined enough for my mind. Hence why you'll see my helmet choice below - it has that eye piece that I imagined looked sci-fi enough to count as an in-helmet scope.
Anyway, on to the pics. I tried for a home made urban camouflage to affect her "sniper" status and felt that the yellow-orange lenses was a good contrast to this. The vents in the underside of the rifle are either going to get a red or light-blue effort and perhaps some lighting effect.
