Some things:

My photo
I paint small metal and plastic figures and rarely get to play with them. But that is fine with me.

Zomtober 2016 (Week 5 GOOOOOOLLLLL!!!!)

The mojo returned and my Zomtober 2016 goal of painting up my WW2 German zombies is completed afterall.

Nuff said.

All five of them, new arrivals at the fore. The bases need a wee bit of touching up on their edges, but otherwise I'm happy enough with them considering they were fast'n'dirty paint-jobs.

Unteroffizier (Not that zombies observe ranks or anything.) in the center, with Fraus Guts-out and Gammy Leg either side of him.

Camo Smock things. Looked up some late late War camo designs and saw this relatively simple one. Contrasts well enough with the Feldgrau I think and doesn't look utter shite.

As you can see, Gammy leg has been dragging his right leg and bleeding all over the shop, whilst Guts-out (A design request from my son) seems to be dripping and slipping in... himself.
So there - Zomtober ended up a success afterall and I'm happy enough with the finished pieces.

Whilst basing these, I also got the painted-til-now Soviets based up too (Post on those to follow once all of the squad are done.). Two months until the end of the year and I think I can have my Bolt Action Soviets fully painted by then!

On the gaming front, got in a game of Star Wars: Armada with Densmol Saturday. My Imperial fleet fell to the massed firepower of Admiral Ackbar on his MC-80 and attendant bomber squadrons though. No blaming the dice on this one though, just pure silly Admiralship on my part. Loads of fun though!

Happy Halloween to you all! Hope all of you and your loved ones stay safe and dry out there. (I'll be handing out sweets again, which I very much enjoy as I love seeing all the little faces eager and excited for the holiday.)

Zomtober 2016 (Week 4)

Finished up these two WW2 German zombies last night for my very much side-project (Weird War 2) Konflikt ’47 collection. They were made from the plastic Warlord Games German Grenadiers boxed set. I wanted to keep them “gore-lite” and so just a single obvious wound on both. (It struck me that horribly mutilated or injured corpses would not work for reanimation as they’d be too mucked up!)

Painted these with a similar formula that I used for my fantasy zombies. One is missing a hand, the other got shot in the eye.

Eye-shot has an exit wound in the back of his head, which I thought was fun.
Uniforms were painted with no particular unit or theater in mind but I think at least can't be confused as anything other than a Heer uniform.

As my current 28mm WW2 efforts are all Winter theatre, I will finish the snow-basing at a later date so I can get them done in a big batch with my latest Winter Soviets.

Speaking of which, here are six members ready for basing that will represent my “free inexperienced squad” (Per the Soviet National rules in Bolt Action.). Again, snow basing to come once all squad members are completed.

Squad leader pointing the way.

Free unit gets Anti-tank grenades (Molotov cocktails) so there are a few members of this unit who are sporting flaming bottles and/or grenades.

Goodness I am not a fan at all of prone poses....
Better pics to come once everything is based.

Let's see if I can finish out Zomtober with a flourish - there's three more of this undead squad to complete and only 3 days to get them done - yikes...

Zomtober 2016 (Week 2 - WIP WeekWIP) And an Anniversary or two.

But what work that was done was poignant and so some photos of my WIP Soviets and of course, Zombies:

WIP WW2 German zombies for Konflikt 47. Very early stage on these. They were constructed out of the Warlord Games German Grenadiers plastic set and with some very simple hand switching, etc they seem to be just what I needed. Only 3 so far, but hoping to have another 12 (At least) for when I finally get around to playing a game of K'47.

I actually painted 7 more Soviets, but the sergeant was done late last night on impulse after this picture was taken. These will all be members of a "free" 12-man Inexperienced infantry that we Soviet players get in Bolt Action. With one already painted yonks ago, I've only 4 more to get through and then it's on to the bases. Not bad for me speed-wise.

And that's it. Or is it?

Not quite. The 1st of the month passed by and I didn't even realise that  the 5th anniversay or birthday of this blog starting was quite forgotten. So there you  go - as ever, thanks to all those who take the time to stop by, read my drivel, view the pictures of my work and pause long enough to leave a comment on my hobbying. It all keeps me motivated to get shit done!

Anniversary the 2nd - today marks the 15th anniversary of my emigrating to the United States. Holy poop-shoots that's gone by far more swiftly than I'd realised. On the cusp of turning 40 it suddenly struck me I've lived outside of Britain almost as long as I'd grown up within. Interesting.
