I paint small metal and plastic figures and rarely get to play with them. But that is fine with me.

Clever Hans (Part 3 - Lt. + Adjutant - Done!)

When i said I'd finally get started on my WW2 Winter Germans, I wasn't lying.

This is the force's Lieutenant and his adjutant/Platoon Sergeant pal all ready to lead the way against my array of Soviets. They are both very characterful sculpts with some nice facial expressions. After some patient base coating, both ended up being rather fun to detail. Think I got their kit painted in the correct colours too.

Per usual, these pics are pre-dulcote.

Thought it'd be nice to show step-by-step pics. Well, kind of.

Base coat with a wash on his fleece lining. Warmest looking man in the force.

I also got a start on those Giant Spiders too. Just simple washes.

  4. Now imagining Herr leiutnant shouting orders to spiders.

Only of course, the spiders speak swahili and can't understand him.

    1. Ha! That's a good image. Spiders speaking Swahili - for some reason, that idea makes all sorts of sense to me.

  9. Those Germans are great miniatures. Very expressive, especially the way you've painted their faces. Love the spiders too. Sometimes the simplest techniques are the most effective. Well done!
