Couple posts ago I showed of an old minotaur mini kindly donated to me by Iain over at caveadsum1471 blog. Well, here's his pal. Bit more of a shaven look, which is fine for me and I think they look like a great pair. Speaking of pairs, he also got some balls added to match his friend. Both are impressive and were they not so ugly and smelly, I'm sure they'd be a hit down the local bovine bar.
The contrast is pretty crazy in these pics but he was another quick'n'dirty paint job and I like the mini very much. THANKS IAIN!
Think these two will feature in lots of future roleplay sessions where I GM and also in an old school Chaos warband I am putting together.
Next up, more Chaos Genestealer Cult!
Some things:
- Dai
- I paint small metal and plastic figures and rarely get to play with them. But that is fine with me.

Bullocks (Part 1)
Some time back, a very lovely surprise parcel arrived at my home from a kind fellow blogger by the name of Iain. (His blog is very spiffy with some lovely armies and terrain to drool over HERE) Inside I found two old Marauder Miniatures Minotaur sculpts circa 1990 that I had owned when I was but a young teen and they were first released, but sadly since lost in the annals of time and girls and booze. Iain heard my sob story after he posted his own painted versions and sent me a spare pair of these lovely bovine warriors. Below, you'll see only one of the two painted up, the 2nd to be previewed at a later date.
Now I love these old cartoony style sculpts. Per usual, they have lots of character and this fellow looks like one heck of a thick-headed brute to me. My only complaint is that as part bull, wouldn't he be sporting a lovely pair of knackers betwixt his legs like real bulls do? Of course he should! So yeah, I green-stuffed some testicles on the bloke and made sure they were appropriately visible. (Added the same to his soon to be shown pal as well.)
Yet to name him, but if you can come up with something appropriate, fire away int he comments!

A simple paintjob to just get him off my desk. It'll do for Tabletop and Roleplay games!
Guess they don't make comfortable undies large enough to contain his manliness?
Also, I found myself entertaining a little insanity and decided that starting a new Warhammer 40K army would be a great idea! So, I assembled these two and now have the start of a burgeoning Genestealer Cult army!

Wait, are these Xenos freaks sporting Icons dedicating them to the Chaos god, Khorne!? (More on this in a future post)

British 8th Army HQ and others (WIP - part 1)
In my list for my Flames of War Mid War British Motor Company, my HQ is comprised of the following:
1. 2x Rifle Command teams (With Sticky Bombs for extra suicide Anti-Tank fun) representing the iC and 2iC
2. a White's Scout Car transport for the 1iC
3. a jeep transport for the 2iC
4. 2x 3" Mortar teams that were add-ons for the HQ
5. and 2 15cwt Morris Truck transports for the Mortar teams.
Over the past few nights, I have been diligently working on the basic paint and shade jobs for these and come up with the following. I think they should do okay for now; as with my Late War Canadians, I will go back later on and highlight their uniforms and skin colours, but right now, they are good for gaming.
I also got around to finally getting some markings done for my finished 8th Army platoons. Not sure how accurate they are for the period I am aiming for, but I got so annoyed that I think I'll just stick with what you see below. At least they look pretty. (Still yet to add some wear and tear to them.)
Lastly, I've been working on a little side project for my rpg group's current game - some Robotech mechas! (The GM got a load of them from the Robotech minis game Kickstarter) Each of us four players went and created our own paint scheme for our individual Veritechs and I offered to help out the GM in assembling and painting some up as he's still learning this hobby stuff, bless him. So far I've put together two Zentradi bad-guy bots that look cool but I have no idea what they do, except for one being a leader. I also started on one of the two Veritech Batloids, but will have to get painting first before full assembly as they are fiddly buggers.
Should have some pictures of finished pieces up later this week.

I don't have the correct Numbered decal for this platoon, so will free-hand it on the opposite side of the hull....

.... and also next to the Desert Rats symbols on the rear.

I reckon the Crusaders look super sexi with their new markings.

Red Triangles for Squadron markings are a great touch.

Some Crusader rumps for your delectation.

The Warband (Part 4 - Centaurs)
Quick return to some Citadel Miniatures inspired fun.
To break up the monotony of painting up oodles of 15mm infantry, I decided to put a little more work into my Chaos Warband project and got on with my centaurs.
First off, thankfully there's only two of them, because thus far they have been rather fiddly, green-stuff-wise. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with their main horse bodies, they are large bare areas of the models and I'm at somewhat of a loss of how to decorate them, if at all. Right now they are just carved up due to removal of their saddles/blankets that had been part of their mold.
Their Dominant Attribute is “Hideous Appearance”, so I dove into my bits box trying to figure out if I had any appropriate ugly/weird looking heads pieces to show this.
The fellow on the left got a metal head from a piece I found in my LGS bits bins, some random scaled thing that had been on a long neck. It’s a little large, but I think that in itself helps to define it’s “hideousness” when compared to the centaur’s more hairier rest of it’s body. (Though I may add scales to it’s torso now I think about it…. Hrm.) (It was 12:30am when I set my tools down ~_~ ) For a weapon, he got the long spear thing from the Corpse Cart driver – I just need to bulk up that wrist a little. I’m not sure what the heck I’m going to do with his left arm…. I think I may well slap a tentacle there for gits and shiggles, even though I didn’t roll one up originally – he’s “hideous” damnit, all of him.
The strapping chap on the right got a plastic head piece that had previously been attached to an armoured fist by it’s hair. I’m guessing some sort of trophy from a Vampire Counts kit? I cut off the fist and green-stuffed some funky Jimmy Neutron hair that I think looks pretty darn cool. With his skeletal features and skin-flap peeling off his forehead, this bloke is pretty damned “hideous” I feel. Another piece from the Bits bin was that lovely flail, again, I don’t know what model it’s from. I added the bell-on-a-chain as a last minute idea, but I think I’ll use something else, as it looks a bit pants now I look at it this morning.
There's still lots to do on these two - the spear bloke needs more work done on his "abs" and they both need some sort of tail (Am trying to steer clear of traditional horse-hair looks though). I'm also considering re-attaching the spear arm to be raised up more as the angle it's at now takes away from the whole pose I think.
Comments and/or critiques are welcome.
